Just checking if anyone is going out this moorning - water looks a little iffy but thought I would launch for a morning attempt for some halibut.
Thanks for any replys.

We went out of Trinidad, kind of snotty, but not too bad. It laid down a bit around 10 to noon and was sunny  too, but then the wind increased and the fog rolled back in. We limited with two mid-20lb fish in about 320ft on herring after nothing at 225ft and 250ft. We then trolled our way in and actually hooked a salmon at about 2PM but the hook pulled about 20ft from the boat. Cry That happened in about 190ft with 185 feet of wire out in the downrigger.

Thanks Ross for the report - we himmed and hawed and then just decided to stick around and do a little work at home - didn't get anything done so glad you caught you were successful.

We were out of trinidad.  4 hours no bites between 240 and 225 feet.  at 11 am Moved in to 200 and three minutes later 20 pounder.  T-ball reset the rod and instantly 40+ pounder.  Left after that. Seemed most boats doing well.

We went straight out of Eureka yesterday and it was rough for us.  We wanted to get out to 325' but dropped in at 270'.  Pulled the gear 15 minutes later and headed back in.  My occupants were less than thrilled with the conditions and quite frankly I didn't really like it much either.  While it was fishable, it was less than ideal so you didn't miss out on much.  Pea soup out there too.

Went out for a nice day yesterday. 240 feet... Scratched up my wife's first Halibut.

Didn't get a weight, but sure did taste good last night.

What's that??? Your dirty sock in her hand?

That pic would look even better (less the sock) in her HTC sweatshirt

No... she loves to fish, she just doesn't want to get all slimy touching the fish. Can't ask for it all.

Speaking of Sweatshirts.... guess I need to meet up with ya.

Have her picture taken in a bikini, then she'll be a definite cover photo for salt water sportsman.  Don't let her read this post, or tell my wife I said this!!!!

Don't worry Doc, your secret is safe with me... and 1100 other members.

She reserves the bikini for those perfect days at the cape anyways.

She's the only person on my damn boat who catches fish consistently and she's a salmon magnet.

My wife is one of those fish magnets also.  But I made the mistake of taking her out on a lumpy day, and I put her on the wheel and told her to go straight....  after two lines were caught by the propeller, and I got wet hanging off the transom freeing the lines, I said a few bad words.  Now she doesn't want to venture out much anymore.  Guess I used the wrong words.  Can't take them back either.  Well, I hope to get her back onboard and out in the swells this year.  She always has the "beginners luck".  Won't put on the bikini though.....   for a good reason.  I don't wear them either.

Hey Doc,
Come on... put the bikini on.. We can do a HTC spring and fall calender. You and Phil can be on the cover.

I let auto drive... however my wife did get line in the prop once... I scream and cuss.. nothing unusual ... she gives it right back 3 fold.

That calendar could be a real money maker.  Just imagine the demand when news of it gets out.  HTC members in bikinis.  It's just too good to resist.
