Life is short..."fish till you drop"!

« on: July 31, 2010, 07:49:09 pm »

For the last three days there has been a slow but steady scratch for salmon north of the North Jetty in 120-160'  and from 47' through 50' minutes of latitude.  Those who put their time in this morning and "stuck it out"  in some early morning "crappy" weather,  took limits of fish in the 12-25 lb. range.  The water is clear.  Fishing down from 50'-100' of wire with flashers and bait, or apex, was the trick .  You have to be patient and put your time in.  We averaged a bite about every 45 minutes.  There are a few "pesty" silvers in the mix, and they are all grown up, so check your catch.  Finding "tight" bait balls puts the odds in your favor.  Your little bird friends will help you there. Today the boats worked together as a team, announcing their positions; what they were using in terminal tackle, and that all important, depth that they were fishing when they got bit.  Teamwork really works for everybody, and the limits showed it today!

Could that mean those Shelter Cove fish that were 'never' going to be here are starting to show?    Smiley

That would be nice 'cuz I'll be up there fishing with the Seaweasel on Tues. Hope it doesn't get too snotty.
